This is one of ours..

Poor girl has been sat over a year so I thoughyt it was time she came out to play. Got her on the ramp and found she hadn't suffered too badly. I decided to book an MOT and start welding.

Starting with the nearside rear end of sill. I have decided to repair the sills rather than replace as most sills available are half the thickness of the original steel and these are not too bad. rear door step corner, sill and and arch were repaired badly in the past as you can see by the pics and the amount of filler . Chopped all that out and started fabricating bits to put back in.

I removed the jacking point and repaired it ready to go back in. Welded the door step corner and attached jacking point then started on the inner arch and inner sill around the rear subframe mounts. Luckily it wasn't too bad here so I could get around everything without dropping the subframe.

Once that lot was in I dosed it with zinc primer and started to fabricate the outer sill. aligning everything with the jacking point was a bit tricky but we got there and made the sill complete. The lower section of arch is only temporary as I do have complete arches to fit, just not enough time right now. The sill is a completed box so the arch attaches to the outside and can be removed.

The center section of sill had rusted around the drain plug. I cut into it and found the chassis leg end and the inner sill both need work. Chassis leg was cut back the inner sill cut away, inner sill welded back in follwed by the chassis leg and then the outer skin sorted. In doing this I have uncovered a bit more which I will look at today...
